DentalGoodNews|September 24, 2026 (U.S. Eastern Time), Tony Ream, former credit supervisor at Henry Schein, Inc., was sentenced to 30 months in prison by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York for misappropriating approximately $1.6 million in customer refund funds. In addition to the prison term, presiding Judge Sanket J. Bulsara ordered Ream to fully repay the $1.6 million in stolen funds and to pay a $1,000 fine. According to court disclosures, Ream pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges on September 25, 2025. According to the announcement, Ream, 35, joined Henry Schein's credit department in 2019 and was subsequently promoted to credit supervisor. Between October 2020 and November 2024, Ream used his authority as credit supervisor to transfer funds that should have been refunded to customers into accounts under his personal control through multiple wire transfers. To conceal his actions, he recorded these transfers as refunds already issued to customers and had subordinates unknowingly assist in completing the related operations. According to the announcement, the stolen funds were used to pay for Ream's wedding expenses, international travel, and a restaurant project he operated in South Carolina.
