DentalGoodNews|On August 24, 2026, Private Equity (PE) investment firm Ethos Partners LLP announced a strategic investment in Labyrinth Dental (hereinafter referred to as "Labyrinth"), a full-service dental laboratory group in the UK. The investment aims to accelerate the nationwide rollout of Labyrinth's digital scanner solutions through capital injection and industry expertise. Beechbrook Capital provided senior debt financing support for this collaboration. According to disclosures from Ethos Partners and transaction advisor HMT LLP, Labyrinth is headquartered in Birmingham and has been established for over 40 years. It is the fourth-largest full-service dental laboratory in the UK, integrating 8 specialized laboratories at a single location. Through a unified digital manufacturing platform, it provides crowns, bridges, dentures, orthodontic treatment, implants, and whitening products to over 2,000 dentists across the UK in both the National Health Service (NHS) and private sectors. In terms of financial performance, Labyrinth stated that its revenue compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the past three years exceeded 20%. With the application of Intraoral Scanning (IOS), Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), and 3D printing technologies, the group currently receives the majority of its cases through digital channels.
Furthermore, as an early adopter of Intraoral Scanning technology, Labyrinth stated that the company plans to help more dentists transition from silicone impression to digital workflows by offering free scanner placements and supporting training. Currently, the group has achieved 24-hour continuous operation and maintains an internal logistics network to ensure delivery efficiency across the UK. According to Labyrinth's disclosure, following this investment, the group's three founders - CEO Michael Coldicott, Sales Director Kuldip Bhandal, and Chief Technician Jeffrey Rabone - will continue in their roles and oversee daily operations. Meanwhile, the board will be chaired by Zak Smith, who previously led and successfully sold two independent dental chain organizations; Suddy Bharaj will join the group as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
