Invisalign® parent company Align Technology, Inc. (Align Technology, Nasdaq: ALGN) announced on June 18, 2026, local time that current Chairman C. Raymond Larkin Jr. will retire and step down effective July 1, 2026. Independent board director Kevin Conroy will succeed him as Chairman, effective the same day. According to Align Technology, Larkin has served on the Align Technology Board of Directors since 2004, witnessing and guiding the company's complete development journey from its early expansion to the Invisalign system reshaping the global orthodontic landscape. After stepping down, Larkin will continue to serve as an ordinary director and member of the Nominating and Governance Committee until December 31, 2026, to ensure a smooth leadership transition. Kevin Conroy joined the Align Board of Directors in December 2023 and has served as Chair of the Compensation and Human Capital Committee since January 2026, with a board tenure of approximately two and a half years. Conroy is the former Chairman and CEO of Exact Sciences Corporation (manufacturer of the Cologuard® non-invasive colorectal cancer screening product): during his tenure, he provided key impetus for the commercial rollout of Cologuard and grew the company's annual revenue to $3.25 billion. In March 2026, Exact Sciences was acquired by Abbott Laboratories, and Conroy currently also serves on Abbott's Board of Directors. Align Technology currently serves approximately 299,500 doctor customers globally, with a potential consumer market size of 600 million people. Over the past 29 years, it has helped approximately 22.8 million patients complete treatment with the Invisalign system. This change only involves the board level, with no changes to the positions of CEO Joe Hogan and CFO John Morici. According to previous reports by DENTALGOODNEWS (Leading Dental Industry Media, DGN), Align Technology completed an executive-level restructuring in 2024, appointing Emory Wright as Executive Vice President (responsible for next-generation manufacturing operations) and Srini Kaza as Vice President of R&D, focusing on building 3D Printing direct manufacturing capabilities.
