National Bureau of Statistics: Profit of Dental Equipment Manufacturing Industry Grows 26.4% from January to May

DentalGoodNews｜On June 27, 2026, the National Bureau of Statistics released the profit data of industrial enterprises for January-May 2026. Yu Weining, Chief Statistician of the Industrial Department of the National Bureau of Statistics, stated in the interpretation that the profits of high-tech manufacturing maintained double-digit growth, among which the profits of industries related to medical equipment and devices grew rapidly, with the profit of the dental equipment and appliance manufacturing industry increasing by 26.4% year-on-year.

During the same period, the profit of industrial enterprises above the designated size increased by 18.8% year-on-year, the profit of the manufacturing industry increased by 20.0% year-on-year, and the profit of high-tech manufacturing increased by 44.7% year-on-year. Among the industries related to medical equipment and devices, the profit of the sanitary materials and medical supplies manufacturing industry increased by 23.2% year-on-year.

In comparison, the profit growth rate of the dental equipment and appliance manufacturing industry was 7.6 percentage points higher than that of all industrial enterprises above the designated size, and 6.4 percentage points higher than that of the overall manufacturing industry. According to the sub-industry data from the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to May, the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry achieved operating revenue of 944.57 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.5%; and achieved total profit of 129.05 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.3%.

According to official sources, the statistical scope of this report covers industrial enterprises above the designated size with annual main business revenue of 20 million yuan and above, and all relevant data are calculated based on comparable calibers.

From a historical perspective, the profit growth of the dental equipment manufacturing industry has shown a certain degree of sustainability. According to a previous report by DENTALGOODNEWS (Leading Dental Industry Media, DGN), in the full year of 2025, the profit of this industry increased by 29.7% year-on-year, which was 29.1 percentage points higher than that of all industrial enterprises above the designated size, 24.7 percentage points higher than that of the overall manufacturing industry, and 16.4 percentage points higher than that of the overall high-tech manufacturing industry. According to the National Bureau of Statistics' first-quarter national economic operation data, in the first quarter of 2026, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for healthcare increased by 1.8% year-on-year, rising to 1.9% in March alone.
