This white paper is compiled based on desensitized clinical data from 2023 to 2025 across five campuses of Jiangsu Yuhui Medical Technology Group, and is co-published by Jiangsu Yuhui Medical Technology Group and DENTALGOODNEWS (Leading Dental Industry Media, DGN). At the launch ceremony, Ms. Chen Lijie, Executive Dean of Jiangsu Yuhui Medical Technology Group, introduced that this white paper will systematically review standardized diagnosis and treatment systems, quality control SOPs, physician team building, and typical clinical cases, aiming to promote the standardization and high-quality development of the orthodontic industry in southern Jiangsu. Subsequently, Ms. Chen Lijie, together with Professor Zhou Wenqing, President of the Nantong Private Dental Practice Association and Chairman of the Academic Quality Control Committee of Jiangsu Yuhui Medical Technology Group, Professor Chen Wenjing, the first Chair of the Jiangsu Orthodontic Professional Committee, and the heads of orthodontic departments from various Yuhui campuses, jointly unveiled the initiative, marking the white paper's entry into the preparatory phase.
Themed "Leading Early Orthodontic Intervention with Precision Strategies," this forum closely aligned with the national "One Old, One Young" livelihood health project, focusing on core topics such as early screening and assessment for children and adolescents, occlusal guidance, maxillofacial growth management, and personalized orthodontic treatment design. Distinguished guests including Professor Zhou Wenqing, Professor Chen Wenjing, Ms. Han Yan, Vice President of the Suzhou Stomatological Association, and Ms. Chen Lijie attended the event. During the opening ceremony, Professor Chen Wenjing delivered an opening address. Based on the background of the "Healthy China" strategy, she pointed out that oral health and early orthodontic treatment for children and adolescents have become key areas of focus for the industry. She noted that clinical practice still faces challenges such as indication control, treatment design, and risk management, and called on practitioners to uphold their medical初心, commit to lifelong learning, and safeguard the public's oral health with strong professional capabilities.
In his welcome speech, Professor Zhou Wenqing stated that the private dental practice industry has entered a new stage of specialization, refinement, and differentiation. Early orthodontic intervention for children is a critical area where private practices can leverage their institutional advantages, deepen niche markets, and build core competitiveness. He expressed hope that academic exchanges would steadily advance regional dental treatment technologies.
The academic lecture session followed, featuring five focused presentations closely tied to clinical hot topics in early orthodontic intervention. Dr. Xia Lunguo, Executive Deputy Director of the Department of Orthodontics at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, delivered a talk titled "To Do or Not to Do: Early Correction of Dental and Maxillofacial Deformities in Children," providing a framework for judging indication boundaries. Dr. Gu Min, a postdoctoral fellow at Soochow University, presented "Reshaping the Value of Early Orthodontic Intervention with Systematic Thinking," prompting a re-evaluation of early orthodontic logic. Mr. Liu Qi, Director of the Chengdu Ultimate Alignment Dental Clinic, shared a digital practical solution titled "Efficient Early Orthodontic Intervention with Angelalign KID Innovative Tools." Dr. Ye Cui, Associate Chief Physician at the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Fudan University, focused on "Non-Extraction Invisible Orthodontics for Class II Adolescents." Ms. Wang Yafei, Director of the Orthodontic Department at Nantong Yuhui Dental Hospital, shared clinical insights on "Skillfully Using Clear Aligner Therapy to Efficiently Address Adolescent Mandibular Retrusion."
These five presentations covered multiple dimensions, including defining early orthodontic principles, applying clear aligner therapy, empowering with digital tools, building systematic diagnostic thinking, and utilizing non-extraction orthodontic techniques. The content was rich and substantive. Attendees listened attentively, frequently raising their phones to capture key points, broadening their diagnostic approaches through the collision of ideas and case studies.
It is reported that the Changjiang Orthodontic Forum has been held for eight consecutive years. As the organizer, Jiangsu Yuhui Medical Technology Group stated that it will continue to use the forum as a platform to collaborate with various industry stakeholders, conducting ongoing academic exchanges and quality control system development focused on oral health services for children and adolescents.
