2026 Q1 Revenue HK$988 Million / Mainland China Market Reverses Decline / Digital Case Sales Up 24.6% YoY DentalGoodNews|May 28, 2026 - Modern Dental Group Limited (hereinafter referred to as "Modern Dental") released a voluntary quarterly update announcement, disclosing unaudited selected operating data for the three months ended March 31, 2026. The data shows that during the reporting period, the Group's total revenue was approximately HK$987.5 million (approximately RMB 859 million), representing a year-on-year increase of approximately 12.1%. In terms of sales volume, the total volume for the first quarter of 2026 was approximately 720,000 units, a year-on-year increase of approximately 4.0% (compared to approximately 692,000 units in the same period of 2025). The Group's average selling price for denture products was approximately HK$1,273 per unit (approximately RMB 1,108), a year-on-year increase of approximately 7.2%. The company stated that this was mainly due to the appreciation of foreign currencies against the Hong Kong dollar. In terms of digitalization, the number of digital solution cases produced at the Group's manufacturing bases in Mainland China, Thailand, and Vietnam was approximately 294,700 units, a year-on-year increase of approximately 24.6%, primarily driven by increased adoption of intraoral scanners by customers. Overall revenue in the Greater China region was approximately HK$146.2 million (approximately RMB 127 million). Among this, the Mainland China market recorded growth of approximately 1.5% in original currency terms, reversing the decline of approximately 4.2% seen in the full year of 2025. The Hong Kong market recorded a revenue decrease of approximately 3.7% in original currency terms, but the decline narrowed significantly compared to the approximately 11.5% decrease in the full year of 2025. The company stated that the Mainland China market, impacted by volume-based procurement policies and long-term price competition, "appears to have bottomed out." The Group also plans to exit low-margin segments and focus on mid-to-high-value customers. The European market recorded revenue of approximately HK$533.8 million (approximately RMB 464 million), with a currency movement of approximately 11.8% in original currency terms and a growth rate of approximately 10.6%. The company stated that the growth was primarily driven by higher sales order volumes and benefited from the successful launch of new products such as digital dentures and the continued penetration of digital workflows in the region. The Australian market recorded revenue of approximately HK$79.2 million (approximately RMB 68.9 million), with a currency movement of approximately 11.0% in original currency terms and a growth rate of approximately 7.4%. This was mainly driven by demand for digital products and anti-snoring devices. Revenue from other markets was approximately HK$68.8 million (approximately RMB 59.86 million), an increase of approximately 16.0%, primarily from Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia. The North American market experienced a significant decline, recording revenue of approximately HK$159.5 million (approximately RMB 139 million), a year-on-year decrease of approximately 11.6%. The company pointed out that its local dental laboratory business, MicroDental, was dragged down by the weakening U.S. economy, with revenue decreasing by approximately 14.6% in original currency terms. Excluding MicroDental, the remaining North American business decreased by only approximately 2.3% in original currency terms. The company stated that the main reason was reduced patient demand for high-value, non-essential dental procedures, particularly dental implants. According to previous reports from DENTALGOODNEWS (Leading Dental Industry Media, DGN), Modern Dental's full-year 2025 revenue was approximately HK$3.737 billion (approximately RMB 3.251 billion), a year-on-year increase of 11.1%. Net profit was approximately HK$601 million (approximately RMB 523 million), a year-on-year increase of 47.7%. Revenue, net profit, and EBITDA all reached record highs. In the announcement, Modern Dental noted that this data has not been reviewed by auditors and should be read in conjunction with the Group's most recent annual and interim reports.
