On March 4th, at the Dental South China International Expo 2026, the Nobel Biocare brand under the Envista Group unveiled a groundbreaking new edentulous navigation-guided implant solution. Centered around the X-Guide Navigation System equipped with the FastMap photogrammetry function, this solution integrates multiple digital innovation technologies. It breaks through efficiency barriers across the entire edentulous implant workflow, offering clinicians more precise, minimally invasive, and efficient treatment options, marking a new breakthrough in the implantology segment at this year's South China Expo.

As a benchmark technology in the field of precision implantology, the X-Guide Navigation System, backed by 72 patented technologies and nearly a decade of global clinical validation, is hailed as the "precision navigator" for implants. According to official data, by the end of 2025, 500,000 dental implants had been successfully placed worldwide under the guidance of X-Guide. Its indications cover complex implant procedures such as limited mouth opening and implants placed near the nerve canal, and it can also be extended to clinical operations in multiple fields including oral surgery and endodontics.

In the field of edentulous implantology, the X-Guide Navigation System, leveraging its X-Mark™ virtual registration technology and FastMap photogrammetry function, redefines the digital implant solution for edentulous cases. It achieves ultimate minimally invasive surgery and efficiency, providing patients with higher comfort and satisfaction.

The X-Mark™ virtual registration technology, unique to the X-Guide Navigation System, eliminates the need for pre-operative registration pins or additional CT scans. Relying solely on the pre-operative Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), it enables fast and accurate registration. This technology controls implant position deviation to the millimeter level and reduces angular deviation to a minimum, offering extreme minimally invasive surgery with low radiation. It significantly reduces surgical difficulty while minimizing intraoperative trauma and postoperative reactions for patients.

Another major innovation is the integration of the FastMap photogrammetry function into the X-Guide, achieving a synergistic effect where "navigation + extraoral scanning" yields results greater than the sum of its parts, maximizing implant efficiency. Based on advanced digital optical impression technology, FastMap utilizes an innovative "candied haws"-shaped titanium scan body, completing the impression-taking process in as fast as 10 seconds, with accuracy far surpassing traditional methods.

As it is integrated into the dynamic navigation system, after FastMap scanning, the navigation system can automatically fit the obtained post-operative implant position data with pre-operative CT data, intraoral scanning (IOS) data, and virtual wax-up designs. With one-click export and simple adjustments, the design of the temporary restoration can be completed. Combined with chairside 3D printing, a temporary bridge can be fabricated in 30-40 minutes, enabling tooth delivery within 1 hour post-surgery. This allows patients to avoid repeated visits and long waiting times, significantly enhancing the treatment experience.

For the final restoration phase, the new solution is paired with the NobelProcera ASC angled screw channel zirconia implant bridge, which newly launched in mainland China in 2025. Its unique structure allows the screw access channel to form a 0-25 degree angle with the implant's long axis. The purely screw-retained design eliminates the need for cement, providing a more flexible solution for multi-unit and edentulous restorations, balancing functional and aesthetic outcomes. Together with X-Guide and FastMap, it forms a complete technological loop, enabling full-process digital empowerment from precise implantation to efficient restoration.

Currently, with an aging population and continuously rising demand for dental implants, the industry pain point of the long training cycle for experienced implantologists urgently needs addressing. The edentulous navigation-guided implant solution released by Nobel Biocare empowers clinicians with digital intelligence technology. It not only helps doctors overcome the limitations of experience and shorten their learning curve but also provides edentulous patients with high-quality treatment services through precise operations, efficient workflows, and a comfortable experience. This new launch at the South China Expo further establishes the X-Guide Navigation System as a core choice for digital implantology, injecting new momentum into the digital transformation of the dental implant industry.
