Zenyum and MakeO Announce Merger, Two Major Consumer Dental Brands Integrate to Cover 10 MarketsIssuing time:2026-02-26 16:18
DentalGoodNews | Recently, Singapore-based consumer dental company Zenyum and India's MakeO Toothsi announced plans for a strategic merger. According to the transaction plan, Zenyum will be merged into the Indian holding company MakeO, with completion expected by the end of February 2026, pending customary approvals. Zenyum was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Singapore. Its main business is DTC (direct-to-consumer) consumer dentistry, with products covering clear aligners and oral care products (including electric toothbrushes, whitening products, etc.). Currently, Zenyum has expanded to Asian markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong, China. According to official disclosures, MakeO Toothsi is an Indian DTC clear aligner brand whose products have received US FDA certification. Its network covers over 500 partner doctors and more than 50 clinical centers, having cumulatively completed over 300,000 orthodontic cases. Zenyum stated that the merger structure is a "merger of equals," with both parties having similar revenue scales and highly complementary geographic footprints. However, neither company disclosed valuation details or post-merger shareholding ratios. Furthermore, Zenyum indicated that after the transaction is completed, Zenyum will be integrated as a subsidiary under the MakeO holding structure. MakeO's Mumbai headquarters will become the headquarters of the merged entity, while Zenyum's Singapore office will continue to serve as the regional headquarters for Southeast and North Asia operations. Regarding management arrangements, MakeO founder Dr. Arpi Mehta will serve as the CEO of the merged group, and Zenyum CEO Julian Artopé will continue as the CEO of Zenyum. Both brands will maintain independent operations on the consumer side. The merged entity will cover markets including India, Taiwan, China, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. It will establish a network of approximately 1,100 partner doctors and a treatment plan review team consisting of 80 dental and orthodontic professionals. According to official information, the expected synergies primarily stem from supply chain integration; both parties plan to leverage AI capabilities to enhance scaling efficiency. MakeO's patented products and US FDA-certified solutions will also be incorporated into Zenyum's clinical network. Regarding IPO plans, Zenyum CEO Artopé told Reuters that India is "one of the world's most attractive IPO markets," and the merged group is well-positioned to pursue this opportunity "within the next few years," though the current focus remains on integration and growth.
